Oiko led the creative direction and production of the Opening Ceremony for the 41st Special Olympics Italy National Summer Games 2026 in Lignano Sabbiadoro.
Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports movement for people with intellectual disabilities, promoting inclusion, participation, and equal opportunities through sport.
The event was a remarkable moment of gathering and shared experience, bringing together over 3,500 athletes from all Italian regions, alongside thousands of coaches, families, and volunteers, with a total attendance of approximately 5,000 people in the stadium.
Delivering the ceremony required a precise balance between creative vision and technical execution: the flow of the delegations’ parade was carefully synchronized with dedicated pathways and impactful lighting sequences. For Oiko, this represented an experience of profound human and professional value.
Beyond the design of the ceremony and its visual storytelling, the project involved complex coordination of crowd management, entry operations, and the organization of the large-scale athletes’ parade, ensuring a smooth, engaging, and fully accessible experience for all participants.
